Two-Dollar Bill

Paper with green ink

1998

Donated by Burke Patterson

While two has never caught on as a monetary increment, the Franklin Mint nonetheless issued this bill. One suspects a giant ploy since no one really knows what to do with this bill. It seems wrong to spend it. Cash registers arn’t prepared for it. Its not a large enough sum to be preoccupied with and maybe its lucky. So people hang on to it and it keeps decreasing in value with inflation.
