The fake rat is commonly found in novelty shops, in the same aisle as fake shit and vomit. It is used to make a practical joke. Bloody guts exploding from the abdomen and rectum are rendered with exquisite detail. For some reason the eyes are bloody which doesn’t make sense. Seen from a distance, however, its hard to tell this fake from the real thing, hence its great fascination and appeal.
