Ever since that McDonald’s law suit, hot beverage vendors are scared. Two cups (where there should be one) has become a popular form of insurance against litigation by scalded consumers. Why the insulation movement has focused on inventing things like the “java jacket” instead of a stronger cup remains a mystery. Also mysterious, the introduction of double cupping coincides with the disappearance of “small” and “regular” sizes. Now “small” is “tall” and “regular” is “grande.”
