The combination of two styles of beans (short cut and cut blue lake) in one can produces good fortune through alchemy.
The nomenclature: “Blue Lake Green Beans” suggests another type of doubling that is the subject of a series of photographs by Hollis Frampton. These pictures show brand names (usually the names of other things, animals, foods, etc.) as peculiarly superimposed upon foodstuffs.
