During World War II, all the gum at the Wrigley’s factory in Australia mysteriously disappeared! Later it was found that all the gum had been repackaged with wrappers bearing the flags of the USA and the Philippines on one side and a quote from General MacArthur, “I shall return” on the other. The gum was then air dropped to the people trapped behind enemy lines in the Philippines.
